Considering Further Education? Interested in Football?

BTEC LEVEL Two and Three

Our BTEC Sport with futsal academy enables 16 and 19-year olds to pursue further education with Exeter City Community Trust studying a qualification in a non-traditional learning environment, as well as competing in a professional Futsal League.

Our courses are registered with Exeter College and based at St James Park. Throughout the programme students will have the opportunity to earn qualifications that will help them gain employment in the sport and leisure industry, as well as training and competing in a professional futsal environment for Exeter City FC against other clubs from the Football League.

The level two diploma is a one-year course, equivalent to up to four GCSEs, which will enable you to access further education studies, such as the level three award as a follow on. The course is open to Year 11 or 12 students – male and female - who are predicted to get four GCSEs at grade D or above (or equivalent)

The level three diploma in sport is a two-year course, equivalent to up to three A levels, which will enable you to access higher education studies, including university courses.

Football and Coaching Foundation Degree

The Football Coaching and Development Foundation Degree is a two-year full-time course which will enhance your ability to apply the theoretical concepts of coaching and development in the world of football. This is a very exciting course that offers a broad range of modules including football development in the community, applying science to the game and an introduction to performance analysis.

The programme incorporates work placements modules for learners to apply and develop their knowledge and experience in the industry. Moreover, during the second year, learners are provided with the opportunity to both plan and implement a football related event as means of increasing participation within the community. A number of guest speakers will attend lectures and seminars from a range of potential areas of employment for learners; this as means of boosting vocational context and highlighting sectors of prospective career progression.

Our open events provide an opportunity for you to learn more about the course, and include a practical session to introduce you to the game of futsal and give the coaching staff an opportunity to work with you and answer any questions you may have.
