CITY Community Trust host second 'Street Soccer' event at St James Park

VIDEO: Following the success of last year's event, we hosted our second 'Street Soccer' event at St James Park last month (19 October 2018).

Participants of the afternoon, who were invited from our Premier League Projects (Premier League Kicks, Premier League Girls and Premier League Primary Stars), enjoyed playing matches on inflatable pitches, partying at a disco inside St James Park, testing their accuracy on our inflatable target shot, showcasing their skills against a freestyler and competing in games of Fifa and other indoor activities in the Grecian Centre.

Stuart Davies, Project Development Officer at CITY Community Trust, said: "We have brought them to an authentic area in the city right next to a magnificent stadium (St James Park). The aim was to inspire the youngsters and get them to enjoy sport and try something new.

"It was a fantastic afternoon, which everyone seemed to enjoy and It's always great to see so many happy faces."

Stuart says the event wouldn’t have ran if it wasn’t for the expansion and development of Exeter CITY Community Trust.

"I have been here for four years now," he added. "I can't believe how much we (CITY Community Trust) have grown and developed, it means we can run something like this. A brilliant occasion that brings the local community together."
