National Apprenticeship Week 2020

Posted on February 7th 2020 by

This year, National Apprenticeship Week 2020 was celebrated from the 3rd to the 9th of February 2020. Apprenticeships offer thousands of young people the opportunity to learn whilst working and we thought we'd talk to one of our very own apprentices, Toby Jones, a little over a year after he started with us.

"I started my apprenticeship with Exeter city community trust in January 2019. I left college very confused about what I would like to do instead of a levels," Toby said.

"I looked into apprenticeships to do with sport which is what I have a passion for and the ECCT apprenticeship stood out to me. When I joined I was nervous but exited to start coaching. It is now February 2020 and I can safely say there are many skills I have picked up and learnt, including social skills.

"The apprenticeship has also given me valuable experience in a full time job. The apprenticeship has really helped me to understand what I would like to do when I am older."

Toby has recently received his Level 2 in Multi-Sports Coaching and we look forward to watching his progress throughout his career.
